Start with why?

The idea of the first road trip was to prove that electric cars could be used in countries without the ideal charging infrastructure. Entrepreneur Sasa Cvetojevic embarked on the journey and successfully completed it.

The second trip was done by three girls. Their goal was to move from Nordkapp (Norway) to Tarifa (Spain) in a fully electric car in less than 4 days. They wanted to hit the world record… and they did it! We've refreshed the look of the eco-friendly widget and upgraded features.

The Main Goal

The main goal of these projects was to track progress in real-time via a custom-made widget embeddable in any website. This means everyone will have live coverage straight out of Tesla Model S. So while the driver is driving, users are able to see the progress on his trip.

Since Tesla didn't have an official public API we found the website with a list of data that we can fetch from the car. Next step was connecting with the car to see what we can get from it. After a few trial runs, and some widget adjustments, we were ready to start.
