I'm Em, a lead experience designer, lecturer, and mentor with a focus on Internet of Things (IoT) products and design leadership. With over 8 years of experience and a degree in multimedia engineering, my work explores the intersection of everyday life, design, technology, and business. Technology isn't always the answer, but when used wisely, it can help us focus on everyday moments rather than being a distraction.
My interest in systems thinking and experiences beyond screens is recognized by coworkers, who compliment my ability to connect the dots in meaningful ways. I'm passionate about simplifying holistic experiences and making them inclusive and accessible by focusing on how people behave and how their senses work.
I work as a user experience leader on IoT products and ecosystem for IKEA Home smart. Previously worked with N26, Signify (Philips), Porsche Slovenia, Messe München International, and other companies. Led interdisciplinary UX teams in product and agency environments, defining and translating strategy into solutions through strong teamwork. At Hyper Island and Infinum Design Academy, I lectured and mentored students. I'm constantly eager to learn new things, and I enjoy sharing my knowledge through conference talks, podcasts, and blogging.
